FAQ's

1. What are AHAs and BHAs?
A: AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids like glycolic/lactic acid) gently exfoliate skin's surface to brighten and smooth texture.
BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids like salicylic acid) penetrate pores to clear acne, blackheads, and excess oil.
Both are chemical exfoliants that renew skin without harsh scrubbing.

2. Can I use AHAs/BHAs with niacinamide?
A: Yes! Niacinamide pairs well with both. It helps soothe potential irritation and boosts hydration.

3. Can I use retinol with AHAs/BHAs?
A: Proceed cautiously: Start by alternating nights (e.g., retinol 3x/week, AHA/BHA 2x/week). Avoid layering them unless your skin tolerates it. Always use SPF daily, as both increase sun sensitivity.

4. Can AHAs/BHAs damage skin?
A: Not if used correctly! Overuse or high concentrations (without buildup) may cause:
Redness, dryness, or peeling (reduce frequency if this occurs).
Sun sensitivity (SPF is mandatory).

5. Are AHAs/BHAs safe during pregnancy?
A: BHAs (salicylic acid): Avoid high oral doses, but topical 2% is generally considered safe.
AHAs (glycolic/lactic acid): Safer option, but consult your doctor first.
Pregnancy-safe alternatives: Azelaic acid or gentle PHAs.
